The State of Kahite – Open Village Meeting

April 3rd was the day Kahite residents came out to hear about the ‘State of Kahite’.  It was a full house, with standing room only.

The meeting started out with the Pledge of Allegiance, delivered by resident General Doug Brown.

A total of 15 speakers provided updates on what’s happening in Monroe County.  Monroe County Mayor Mitch Ingram and County Commissioner Paulette Summey were in attendance, along with POA Advisory Committee Representatives and POA CEO Chet Pillsbury.

2023 Crime statistics were provided by Neighborhood Watch.  Thank you to all the residents for keeping our neighborhood safe by reporting suspicious activity in the neighborhood.  Emergency Services also reminded residents on how they can assist first responders when responding to an emergency call.

Kahite residents heard about the new Food Services Advisory Committee and the results of the major upgrade to the Kahite Pub’s kitchen.

The program ran longer than expected, so unfortunately, we did not have time for questions however, residents were given the opportunity to send in their questions.  Many were received and answers were provided by the appropriate representatives.  Thank you all for your participation!
