President’s Message – March 2018

As we drive around town and even as we go past Davis Ferry and Niles Ferry Roads, it is impossible not to know that 2018 is a big election year.

While the growing groups of signs may be a bit overwhelming, they remind us of the significance of our vote to the community. Did you know that Tellico Village:

  • is one of the largest voting blocks in Loudon County?
  • represents 24% of the Loudon County tax base?
  • contribution of “time, talent, and treasure” to Loudon and Monroe Counties is second to none and an asset that has added immeasurably to the larger community’s quality of life?

Our 2018 candidates are aware of these and therefore value the opportunity to talk with us and ask for your vote.  To that end, the HOA is devoting our next three General Meetings to Town Hall Political Forums.  The first of these is March 15th at the Tellico Village Community Church.  At Kahite we will have a special Town Hall Meeting on April 2nd devoted to Monroe County candidates.

You may be wondering why we are doing these Town Halls during Primary season instead of before the General Election.  For many offices, there are only candidates from one party.  Given that, we feel it’s important that you get to know all candidates now, in order to make an informed decision with your primary vote.

We look forward to seeing you at these important HOA events to Be Informed / Be Engaged / Be Heard
